Privacy policy
In short: the calculators and the Ask box run entirely in your browser, so we never receive what you type. We set no cookies. If you email us, we use your message only to reply. We do not sell anything on this site.
Who is responsible
The controller is SYED SHAMAS UD DIN AHMED, Pakistan, an individual sole proprietor based in Lahore, Pakistan, trading as GlanceDesk. Contact details are at the end of this page.
What we process, why, and for how long
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delivering and protecting the website | IP address, browser and request details, processed by our host Cloudflare | Legitimate interests in running a secure site (Art 6(1)(f)) | Short-lived security and delivery logs kept by Cloudflare under its policy |
| Visit statistics | Aggregate page views through Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify or follow individual visitors | Legitimate interests in understanding which pages are useful (Art 6(1)(f)) | Aggregate figures only |
| Answering your emails | Your email address, name if given, and your message | Legitimate interests in replying to you (Art 6(1)(f)) | Up to 2 years after our last exchange, then deleted |
The numbers you enter in a calculator or a question you type in Ask are not in this table because they never leave your device.
Settings stored on your device
Your browser's local storage keeps a few small settings so the site remembers them. They never leave your device, we cannot see them, and you can clear them at any time (on the homepage, "Clear" removes your recent list). We set no cookies.
- gd-theme: the light or dark theme you chose.
- gd-recent: the names of the last calculators you opened (up to 8), shown as "Your recent" on the homepage. It holds no numbers you typed.
- gd-saved: the calculators you chose to save, shown as "Saved" on the homepage. It holds no numbers you typed.
- gd-announce-…: that you closed the announcement bar, so it stays closed for 3 days.
So the site works offline, your browser also keeps copies of the pages you open, and of our scripts, styles and fonts, in its own storage (the site's offline cache). They stay on your device and are replaced as pages change; clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Who receives data
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, security, analytics and DNS for our domain.
- Zoho Corporation: our email provider, where messages to us are stored and answered.
We do not sell personal data, share it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you. There are no adverts or partner links on this site at present; if that changes, this policy will be updated first.
International transfers
We operate from Pakistan, which has no EU or UK adequacy decision. Messages you send us are transferred to us so we can reply to your request (GDPR Art 49(1)(b)). Cloudflare and Zoho transfer data under their own safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of or objection to its use, and a portable copy. Email [email protected]; we reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.
EU and UK representative
We have not appointed an EU or UK representative. Our processing of personal data of people in Europe is occasional (mainly answering emails), involves no special-category data and is unlikely to result in a risk to people (GDPR and UK GDPR Art 27(2)(a)). We will review this if our activities change.
Children
The site is for a general audience and is not directed at children. The calculators collect no personal data from anyone.
