How it is calculated

  • Long: liquidation = entry × (1 − 1 ÷ leverage) ÷ (1 − MMR − fee)
  • Short: liquidation = entry × (1 + 1 ÷ leverage) ÷ (1 + MMR + fee)
  • Assumes isolated margin, no margin added later, and margin = position value ÷ leverage.

Questions

Why does my exchange show a slightly different number?

Exchanges use tiered maintenance rates, a maintenance amount, mark price instead of last price, and sometimes fees. Enter the exact MMR from your exchange to get close.

An estimate. Each exchange uses its own formula, risk tiers, mark price and fees, so its displayed liquidation price is the one that counts. Cross margin is different. This is not financial advice.
